Apa yang bisa dilakukan Count words

For a length you have to hit

An essay with a floor, an article with a ceiling, a talk that has to fit ten minutes. Words, paragraphs and reading time at 200 words per minute update while you edit, so you stop guessing at the end.

Counts languages that do not use spaces

Splitting on spaces reports a whole Chinese or Japanese paragraph as one word. This uses the browser’s own word segmentation, so the number is right in the languages where the naive method is silently wrong.

Keep writing on the desktop

Open the free desktop and the text continues in Notes, which shows the same word count and reading time beside the editor. Notes stay on your device — no account, no sync you did not ask for.

Pertanyaan

Is my text sent to a server?

No. Counting happens in your browser on this device. The text is never uploaded, and there is no account to attach it to.

How is reading time calculated?

At 200 words per minute, the common average for silent reading of ordinary prose. Read-aloud is slower — roughly 130–150 — so treat it as a floor for a talk.

What counts as a word?

Anything the browser segments as a word, so hyphenated forms count once and punctuation is not counted. For Chinese, Japanese and Thai this segments properly instead of counting a whole paragraph as one word.

Does it count words in a document?

Paste the text in and it counts. The tool reads what is in the box — it does not open .docx or .pdf files.
