Terms of Service

Effective July 18, 2026. By using nopa.space you agree to these terms. nopa is operated by an informal volunteer team — not a registered legal entity.

The service

nopa provides free browser-based tools and a local desktop at nopa.space. Tools run in your browser when possible. Your content stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it yourself.

No accounts or payments

nopa does not require registration, subscriptions, or payment. There are no paid tiers, credits, or checkout flows. If someone asks you to pay for "official" nopa access, it is not from us.

Acceptable use

You agree to use nopa lawfully and responsibly. Do not use the tools to harm others, distribute malware, abuse the service, infringe intellectual property, upload or process illegal content, or violate applicable law. You are responsible for content you create, process, or export with nopa. Files you open in nopa — including game ROMs in Retro and books in Reader — must be files you have the right to use. nopa does not supply commercial games or books.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you create with nopa. Because processing is local — including Files Preview for images, PDFs, Office, audio, and video — we do not access, host, or review your files on our servers. Back up important data yourself — clearing browser storage or uninstalling may delete local data.

Third-party software and models

nopa is built with open-source libraries and may download AI models to your device. Third-party components have their own license terms; some AI models may have restrictions, including non-commercial terms. See the Licenses page for library and model details.

AI features

Optional on-device AI (speech-to-text, background removal, and similar) may be slow, unavailable on some devices, or produce imperfect results. Model quality depends on your hardware, browser, and input. Do not rely on AI output for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions without independent verification.

No warranties

nopa is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the nopa team and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, data loss, lost profits, or goodwill loss arising from your use of nopa. If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use nopa, which is zero for the free service.

No professional advice

nopa tools are general-purpose utilities. They do not provide legal, medical, tax, or other professional advice.

Changes and availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of nopa at any time without notice. We may update these Terms; the effective date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These terms are interpreted under applicable laws where required, including mandatory consumer protections.
