What's new
What changed in the tools and on the desktop, newest first. Only things that have shipped, dated the day they did; small fixes stay in the code.

-
QR codes with a transparent background
Tap Transparent background under the code on the QR generator page, or pick Transparent in the full generator, which also saves SVG: the code downloads with nothing behind the dots, ready for a flyer or a label. In the full generator a brand colour can now be typed or pasted as a code.
-
A family tree template on the Board
Four generations, from grandparents to children: cards with room for a name and dates, couples joined at a knot, and lines that follow a card you move. Find it under Insert template on any board, or fill in a smaller tree right on the family tree page and download it.
-
MOV to MP4 without re-encoding
MOV to MP4 turns an iPhone or camera video into an MP4 in seconds by copying the picture and sound, not re-encoding them. It tells you what is inside first: H.264 plays everywhere, while HEVC — the iPhone default — stays HEVC and needs an extension on Windows.
-
Trim, rotate and mute a video without re-encoding
Three new pages — Trim Video, Rotate Video and Remove Audio from Video — and a Video Editor on the desktop. Nothing is re-encoded, so even a long video is done in seconds and keeps its quality.
-
Crop, rotate and resize a photo
Three new pages — Crop Image, Rotate Image and Resize Image — and a Photo Editor on the desktop that does all three with Undo. A turned photo is saved turned in its pixels, so it stays upright on any site.
-
The desktop fills a PDF form in its own fields
Fill in the PDF desktop app now lists the form’s fields beside the pages — text, choices and tick boxes — and writes your answers into them, so the saved file is still a form. A form you started on the Fill PDF page opens there with what you typed.
-
In Europe, visit counting waits for your yes
If your device is set to a time zone in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, nopa asks before counting visits, with two equal buttons, and loads no counter until you allow it. Change your answer any time under “Analytics settings” at the bottom of every page or in the desktop’s Settings.
-
The desktop is easier to use with a finger on a tablet
On an iPad or any touch screen, window buttons are big enough to tap without hitting the one next to them, the dock names every app, and the desktop widgets no longer cover each other on a narrower screen.
-
Watermark photos with your logo, one or a whole batch
Watermark a Photo, Batch Watermark and Tile Watermark now switch between text and your logo: put a logo on up to 30 photos at once and download them as one ZIP, or tile it across the picture.
-
Installing nopa now takes under 15 MB
The desktop and every app in it download in under 15 MB instead of about 37: the site’s pages in every language are no longer packed into the install. A page you open is kept for offline as you go.
-
Word files keep their look when you edit them
Documents now read a .docx with its fonts, sizes, spacing, tab stops, numbering and table borders, and save it back the same way, so a letter or an application opens in Word and LibreOffice as you left it. Spreadsheets keep formulas from .xlsx and read CSV from any Excel; presentations keep their slide order, notes and colours.
-
Text recognition works offline
Photo to text and the scan reader in PDF → Word joined the local AI collection, next to background removal and transcription. After the first run the engine and the language models you used stay on your device, so a scan is read without a connection.
-
Word → PDF keeps the page
A Word file is printed on its own paper size with its own margins, font, size and line spacing; first-line indents, alignment and heading styles come through as the document set them. PDF → Word restores the same things from a PDF: page size, margins, body font, indents and justified text. In Documents, a table can open as a spreadsheet of its own.

-
PDF → Word keeps pictures and tables
A logo, a stamp and a signature from a text PDF land in the .docx where they were on the page. An invoice, a price list or a statement comes out as a real table, from a scan or a photo too, with a “Download table (.xlsx)” button under the document; long account numbers and codes with leading zeros stay as typed. PDF → Markdown now reads scans as well and got a document-language picker.
-
Photo to text
A new page: a photo of a letter, a screenshot or a JPEG scan becomes text you can copy or download as .docx, in the seven languages of the site. Recognition runs in the browser; the picture is not uploaded anywhere.
-
Scans in all seven languages of the site
Text recognition reads Spanish, German, French, Turkish and Indonesian, not only English and Russian. Each page reads its own language plus English, and a “Document language” picker handles a scan that arrived in another one. The engine and a language model are about 4–5 MB, downloaded once.
-
Scanned PDFs are read in the browser
On a scan, PDF → Word offers “Recognize text”: the pages are read right in the tab, with progress per page, a Stop button and up to 20 pages at a time. The text appears in the editor before you download the .docx, so you can check names, numbers and dates. The first run downloads about 5 MB; nothing is uploaded.
-
PDF → Word
A new tool: a PDF opens in the same editor as Word files, and you see the text before you download the .docx — paragraphs, headings, lists, bold and italic, alignment. Word → PDF moved next to it in the PDF section, and the PDF app on the desktop has both in its Convert menu.
-
Spreadsheets you can type into like Excel
In Documents, Enter and Tab keep going past the edge of the grid, clicking away keeps what you typed, a formula picks up the cells you click, and a block pasted from Excel or Google Sheets stays a block. Undo works too.
-
The whole site in Indonesian
Every tool page, widget and catalog tab now has Indonesian text, written from what the code does and with the words people actually search for. Indonesian is the seventh language of the site after English, Russian, Spanish, German, Turkish and French.
-
Repeating events come in from calendar files
Import an .ics file from Google, Outlook or Apple into Calendar on the desktop: a repeating meeting arrives with all its dates, importing it again adds no duplicates, and Calendar says how many events it added.
-
PDF tools open files again in browsers a version or two behind
For part of a day every page that shows PDF pages — split, delete, rotate, sign, fill, PDF → JPG, the viewer on the desktop — answered “could not process this file” in Chrome before 140, Safari before 18.2 and Firefox before 133. The PDF engine now ships its compatibility build with its own polyfills, and a test keeps it that way.
-
Four new tool pages
Compress an image to 100 KB and to 1 MB, where the target is picked for you; delete pages from a PDF; and a watermark on an ID document before you send a copy. All four work on the page, without uploading the file.
-
Documents have pages again
A document shows A4 sheets the size they print, a page break starts a new sheet, and headings stand out from bold text. On a phone the sheet stays full width.
-
Lock the desktop with a code
Four digits in the top bar and the desktop blurs until you type them again. The code itself is never stored, only a hash of it.
-
Notes got a stream
Write to yourself like in a messenger: a line at the bottom, the day above it. Notes with titles stay one tap away.
-
Spreadsheets and slides in Documents
The same editor now makes a spreadsheet — SUM, AVG, MIN, MAX, COUNT, IF, ranges, .xlsx and .csv — and a slide deck with four layouts, themes and fonts that exports to .pptx, PDF and Markdown. A slide is text with a layout, not a canvas, so every export says the same thing as the screen.
-
Transcripts with timestamps and speakers
The transcriber has a Text / Timestamps view: paragraphs with times, each one a button that moves the player. Export grew to .txt, .txt with timestamps, .srt and .vtt. Separating speakers is an option, off by default, with its price named before you click: a 26 MB voice model, downloaded once. All of it runs on your device, and the local AI tools now have a page of their own.
-
Eight backgrounds for a cut-out
Besides transparent, white, black and blue: blur, which takes the background from the photo itself like a phone’s portrait mode, plus grey, light blue and a gradient. The background is chosen right on the tool page, not only in the desktop app.
-
Comments in Documents, and a comment that becomes a task
Select a sentence and leave a note; the text goes to Word and Markdown exactly as if the note were not there. “Make a task” sends the note to Tasks with a link back to the document, and the task card shows where it came from.
-
Projects in Tasks, and dependencies on the timeline
A project groups several boards, and the timeline of a project shows all of them at once. A task can wait for another: the link is drawn on the timeline, and a pair whose dates contradict it turns red instead of being moved for you.
-
Tasks: a timeline, CSV export, keyboard and swipe
The third view draws tasks as bars on a calendar strip: drag a bar to move it, and a task with no dates gets them the moment you drop it on a day. The list exports to a CSV that opens cleanly in Excel. Keyboard shortcuts on the desktop; on a phone, swipe a task right to complete it and left to delete it, with Undo.
