What Convert images can do
It converts the moment a file lands
Drop in a JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC or SVG. The format is recognised even when the name has no extension, and only the outputs that make sense for it are offered: an SVG becomes a PNG, a photo can become JPG, PNG or WebP. The conversion runs as soon as the file is in; pick another format or move the quality slider (JPG and WebP, 50–100%) and it runs again. The line under the result shows the size before and after. Two or more files convert together, up to 30, into one ZIP; an SVG goes one at a time, because its width is chosen per image.
What the size will do
It depends on where the file starts. A photo saved as PNG usually shrinks several times as JPG or WebP, and a camera JPG loses about a quarter as WebP. The other directions grow: PNG stores every pixel exactly, and HEIC, AVIF and WebP are all more efficient than JPG. JPG and WebP start at 92% quality; the slider runs from 50% to 100%.
Choosing a format for where the file is going
PNG opens everywhere and always has, so it is the answer when you cannot test the other end first. JPG is what upload forms and photo printing ask for by name. WebP is decoded by every current browser and previews in Windows 10 and 11, but older desktop software and some application portals still refuse it. This page reads AVIF files but does not write them.
Limitations
Photos above about 16.8 megapixels (the 50 and 108 MP modes of some phones) are scaled down to fit the browser, and the new size is written under the result. The date, camera and GPS location do not carry over: the picture is written again from its pixels. A HEIC opens directly in Safari; elsewhere a decoder of about half a megabyte downloads once. AVIF opens here but is not written, and video is not converted.

Does converting reduce quality?
PNG output is lossless. JPG and WebP start at 92%, where most people stop seeing a difference; lower the slider only when the file has to be smaller.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes, up to 30: choose them together, pick one output format, press Convert all and download one ZIP. SVGs and files over 50 MB stay out of a batch.
Which formats are supported?
