What EPUB Reader can do
Made for the file that will not open
Windows has no built-in EPUB reader, and installing an app just to check one book is a lot to ask. Drop the file here instead: it opens in the browser tab you already have, with the chapter list from the book itself.
Comfortable to actually read
Pick serif or sans, set the text size, and the page keeps a readable line length instead of stretching across a wide monitor. Your place in the book is remembered on this device, so closing the tab does not lose the page.
What it does not open — and why we say so
Books bought with DRM (Kindle, most store purchases) are encrypted, and MOBI or AZW3 files use a different format. This reader opens DRM-free EPUB and FB2 and tells you plainly when a file is one of the others, instead of showing you an empty page.

Questions
Is my book uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened and rendered in your browser — it never leaves your device, and we cannot see what you read.
Can I open a Kindle or DRM-protected book?
No. DRM-protected books are encrypted and only the store’s own apps can open them. The reader detects DRM and says so rather than failing silently.
Does it remember where I stopped?
Yes, on this device and this browser. There is no account and no sync, so a different phone or laptop starts from the beginning.
What file types work?
DRM-free EPUB (.epub) and FB2 (.fb2 and .fb2.zip). MOBI and AZW3 are not supported.
