Compare two texts
Paste or open the original and the changed version. The lines that differ appear as you type: removed words struck out, added words marked, each with its line number.

What Diff Checker can do
Words, not whole lines
Many diff tools mark a whole line as changed when one word in it moved. Here the unit is the word, and punctuation on its own: a changed date shows as one number out and one in, and a comma that became a semicolon shows as just that. Lines that did not change are not shown, so a long contract with two edits is two lines on screen.
Spacing is not a change
Double spaces, tabs and a paragraph that wraps onto different lines in the two versions are ignored: only the words and their order are compared. Text pasted from a PDF, an email and a word processor usually differs in exactly those ways, and a diff full of them hides the edit you are looking for.
Nothing leaves the page
Both texts are compared in your browser tab; nopa has no server that could receive them. That matters for what people compare most: drafts of contracts and policies, code, configuration with keys in it. Download report saves the changes as an HTML file that opens in any browser.

Questions
Is there a size limit?
No fixed one: long texts compare in about a second on a laptop. Two long stretches that have almost nothing in common are shown as replaced in whole rather than word by word.
Can I compare two files?
Yes: Open file above each field reads a Word document (.docx), a PDF or a text file, and two files dropped on the page fill both fields. For two PDFs, Compare PDF shows the same differences with page numbers.
Is it case-sensitive?
Yes. «Contract» and «contract» are different words here, because a changed capital letter is a change worth seeing in a document.
Does it work for code?
Yes, with one difference from a code diff: indentation is ignored. A renamed variable, a changed number or a moved bracket is marked exactly.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The comparison runs in this tab and nothing is sent anywhere.
