Trim a video
Choose a video, drag the two handles to where it should start and end, and download the piece in between.
How it works
- Choose your videoPick an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV. It opens in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
- Move the handlesDrag them to where the clip should start and end; Play loops just the part you keep.
- Download the clipNothing is re-encoded: the piece is copied as it is, so it takes seconds.
Save and continue on the desktop
Download or copy your result here first. Open the free desktop to save to Files or use more features.
- Turn and remove the sound too in the full Video Editor
- Save to Files when you continue on the desktop
- Every tool in one place, no new tabs
After you download, continue on the desktop for Files or the full app.
What Trim Video can do
Cut without re-encoding
Most online cutters decode the whole video and encode it again. That is slow, and every pass costs some quality. This page copies the picture and the sound exactly as they are and leaves out what lies outside your handles, so a ten-minute clip is ready in seconds and looks exactly like the original.
The cut lands where you put it
A video is stored in runs of frames that each begin with a full picture, a keyframe, often a second or two apart. The saved file keeps the frames from the keyframe before your start and tells the player to begin exactly at your cut, so it opens on the frame you chose. Phones and modern players follow that instruction; a few old players ignore it and show up to a couple of seconds before the cut.
What you get
An MP4, MOV or MKV comes back as MP4 and a WebM as WebM, with the same picture and sound inside. Drag a handle and the video jumps to that frame; Play loops just the piece you keep. The file is put together in this browser’s memory, so a very long video on an older phone can run out of it; the page says so if it does.

Questions
Is my video uploaded?
No. It is opened, cut and saved in this browser tab, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Does trimming lower the quality?
No. The picture and sound are copied as they are, not re-encoded, so the piece you keep is identical to the original.
Which videos work?
MP4 and MOV from phones and cameras, WebM and MKV. A video this browser cannot show can often still be cut. The page says when there is no preview.
