Tasks
Organize tasks on a board
Add tasks and tick them off right here — open Tasks in nopa for your own columns, boards and reminders.
Do not take our word for it — watch the network
Open your browser tools, switch to the Network tab and use the widget above. Not one POST leaves the page: what you draw or open never travels. The rows that do appear are our own code arriving from this same address, and every one of them is a GET.

What you can plan here
The board grows into a planner
Rename the columns, add your own, drag cards between them. Each card holds notes, a checklist, tags, a due date and a reminder — and repeating tasks roll themselves forward when you finish them. The same tasks also draw as bars on a timeline, so you can see what overlaps.
Columns you name, cards you drag
Build your own board, name the columns, drag cards between them. Or work the same tasks as a plain list — it is the same card either way.
The same tasks, drawn along time
Give a task a start and a due date and it becomes a bar. Drag it to move the work, pull an edge to change how long it takes, or click a day to plan something there. Days, weeks or months — and no seat to buy for the view.

What Local Kanban Board can do
Boards, columns, and drag-and-drop
Drag cards between columns on the main board, or create custom boards with your own columns. Rename and reorder columns; move a task with a click or a drag.
A card holds more than a title
Each task carries a priority, due date, a checklist of subtasks, and notes. Set a reminder, or make a task recurring (daily, weekly, monthly) — it rolls forward when you complete it.
List, Kanban, or a timeline
Three views of the same tasks: a grouped list, the Kanban board, and a Timeline — a Gantt-style strip where bars run from start date to due date, and you drag one to schedule it or pull its edge to change how long it takes. Group boards under a project and every view narrows to it.
Boards stay in this browser
Every board is stored locally in your browser — no account, no server. Open Tasks in nopa to keep your boards, reminders, and calendar together.
How this differs from a cloud task board
Trello and Notion do far more, and they are built for teams. They also start with a sign-up, and your board sits in their account. Here is the trade.
| How this differs from a cloud task board | Local Kanban Board | Cloud task boards |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-up to start | Not needed | Required |
| Where the board lives | In your browser | In their account |
| Works offline | Yes | Partly |
| The same board on another device | Only by exporting it | Yes |
| Shared team boards | No | Yes |
| Depth of the toolset | Simpler | Deeper |
Nothing syncs anywhere
The board is saved on this device as you type. Nothing syncs anywhere, so nothing can be locked behind a plan later — and it opens instantly because there is nothing to fetch.
- Saved as you type — no save button, no sync spinner
- Reminders and due dates in your language, offline
- Download the list as CSV, or copy it as a Markdown checklist
Your board is one click away

How is this different from Trello?
No account, and the board never leaves your browser — it works offline, has no card limit and nothing behind a paywall. Trello does more: shared boards, integrations, power-ups. nopa does none of that; it is for boards only you use.
Can I drag tasks between columns?
Yes. Open Tasks in nopa, switch to Board view, and drag cards between columns — on the main board or on custom boards you create.
Can I create my own columns?
Yes. In Board view, click New Board, then add or remove columns for that board.
Do tasks have priorities, due dates, and reminders?
Yes. Each task can have a priority, a due date, a checklist of subtasks, and a reminder; tasks can also recur daily, weekly, or monthly.
Is there a Gantt chart?
There is a Timeline view: tasks are bars from start date to due date, on a strip you can read by day, week, or month. Drag a bar to move the task, pull its edge to change the duration, or click a day to create a task there. It is not a full Gantt chart — there are no assignees, dependencies, or shared plans — so it is called Timeline.
Can I group boards into projects?
Yes. A project holds several boards, and picking one narrows the list, the timeline, and the export to it. Deleting a project leaves its boards alone.
Can I get my tasks out?
Yes — download the list as CSV or Markdown, copy it to the clipboard, or back up the whole desktop as one JSON file. Nothing is locked in.
Can I import tasks from this page?
Yes — click Open the free desktop and your task list appears in Tasks on the board view.
