What Fill PDF can do
Fields you can see and step through
When the PDF has fillable fields, they are outlined on the page. Tap one and a box opens under it; its arrows move to the next field, across pages, and “Next empty field” finds the ones left. Text boxes, tick boxes, radio buttons and drop-down lists all work. Where the form gives a field no name, the page shows the words printed beside it.
Answers saved in the form itself
What you type goes into the form’s own fields, not on top of them, so the file stays a working form: whoever receives it sees the answers and can still change them, and software that reads form data gets them too. Any language works in a field. A form locked against editing can still have its fields filled.
Scans and forms without fields
A photographed application or a flattened contract has nothing to fill. Tap the spot where a line belongs, type it and press Add; drag a line to move it. Each entry is one line that does not wrap, so split a long answer over two, and set the size between 6 and 72 points to fit the box. Western European letters are written as text you can copy; a line with Cyrillic, Greek or letters like ş or ł is drawn as a picture.

Questions
Does the filled form leave my device?
No. A filled form usually holds a passport number, an address or a salary. It is opened and written in this browser tab, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Is the download really free?
Yes. No account, no trial and no watermark of ours on the file: it is made in your browser, and you can save it as many times as you like.
Why does it say only Adobe Reader can fill my form?
Some official forms are built entirely in Adobe XFA, which only Adobe Acrobat Reader on a computer can fill: browsers and phone apps can’t, Acrobat’s own app included. Fill one in the free Acrobat Reader for Windows or Mac, or print it from there and fill it in by hand. Forms that also have ordinary fields are filled here, and every PDF reader shows your answers, Acrobat included.
What if the PDF is password-protected?
A PDF that asks for a password to open can’t be opened here: remove the password with Unlock PDF first (you need it). A form that opens freely but is locked against editing works: you can fill its fields and add text outside them, and the copy you save may come without that lock.
Can I sign the form here?
Signature boxes are left as they are. Fill in the form, download it, then add your signature with Sign PDF.
Is there a watermark or a page limit?
No watermark. The limit is the file: up to 200 pages, and up to 100 MB on a computer or 50 MB on a phone.
