What Remove PDF metadata can do
First see what your file reveals
Every PDF carries a hidden information block: author, title, subject, keywords, the app that made it, the app that saved it, and creation and modification timestamps. Many also carry an XMP block that repeats all of that, a fingerprint that links copies of the same document together, and the names of everyone who left a comment. nopa lists what your file actually contains before you change anything, so you are not deleting blind.
One tap — then a second check
Press Remove metadata and the file is rewritten without those entries. nopa then reads the file it just produced and shows you the result of that second scan. Nothing found means nothing found — you are looking at the real bytes you are about to download, not at a promise. The whole file is rewritten, so earlier saved revisions of the document disappear with it.
Your pages stay exactly as they were
Removing metadata is not an edit: pages, text, images, links and bookmarks come out identical, and the file size barely moves. Comment text stays too — only the author name and timestamp on each comment go. Attached files are content, not metadata, so they are left alone unless you open the file in nopa and ask for them to be removed as well.

Questions
What metadata does a PDF actually store?
Usually the author name, document title, subject and keywords, the program that created and saved the file, and creation and modification dates. Word, Google Docs, scanners and phone apps fill these in for you — which is how a document ends up carrying the name of the laptop owner, or the template it was copied from.
Will the PDF look different afterwards?
No. Pages, fonts, images and layout are untouched — only the hidden entries are dropped. Open the file before and after and you will not see a difference.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Reading and rewriting the PDF happens in your browser, on this device. There is no account and nothing to delete afterwards.
Can I put my own name in instead of leaving it empty?
Yes — open the file in nopa and fill in the title or author you want. Anything you leave empty is removed completely.
What about a password-protected PDF?
A locked PDF cannot be read without its password, so the tool says so instead of producing a broken file. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then come back.
