Which tool do I need?
Merge joins whole files into one; Organize is for pages inside one file (drag them into order, rotate, delete), and Delete PDF Pages opens the same board set up for deleting. Extract pulls hand-picked pages into a new PDF, while Split cuts a document into equal parts. Compress is for a file too big to send or upload. Sign places a picture of your signature on the page. It works like print, sign, scan without the printer, and it is not a certified e-signature. PDF to Word turns a PDF, including a scan or a photo of a page, into an editable document; Word to PDF goes the other way. Protect PDF puts a password on a copy of a file; Unlock PDF removes one you know, or lifts the limits on printing and copying. Redact PDF blacks out names or numbers so they are gone from the file, not just covered. Compare PDF shows the words that changed between two versions of a document.
Limits that apply to all of them
Every tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file has to fit in it: up to 100 MB on a computer, 50 MB on a phone or tablet, where memory is tighter. PDF to JPG draws every page as a picture and stops at 200 pages per run. PDF to Word reads the first 20 pages of a scan, and Organize and Delete PDF Pages take files of up to 50 pages. Most tools turn away a PDF that asks for a password to open: remove it with Unlock PDF first (you need the password). One that opens freely and only blocks editing or printing works as it is. Because nothing is uploaded, speed depends on your device: a long scan can take a while on an older phone, so keep the tab in front until it finishes.
Questions
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Each tool opens the file in your browser tab and writes the result straight to your downloads, so there is no copy on a server to delete afterwards.
What is the maximum file size?
100 MB on a computer, 50 MB on a phone or tablet. In Merge PDF and Images to PDF the limit counts all the files together.
Is there a watermark or a paid version?
Neither: all twenty-one tools hand you the result as it is, with no paid tier behind the download.
Can I make a legally certified e-signature?
No. Sign PDF stamps a picture of your signature on the page; for a signature with a certificate behind it, use an accredited provider.
