Which tool do I need?
Merge joins whole files into one; Organize is for pages inside one file — drag them into order, rotate, delete. Extract pulls hand-picked pages into a new PDF, while Split cuts a document into equal parts. Compress is honest about its trade: it re-renders pages as images, works best on scans, and hands your original back untouched if the result is not at least 5% smaller. Sign places a picture of your signature — like print, sign, scan without the printer — not a certified e-signature.
Limits that apply to all of them
Every tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file has to fit in it: up to 100 MB on a desktop browser, 50 MB on a phone or tablet, where memory is tighter. Compress and PDF to JPG redraw pages one by one and stop at 200 pages per run. Password-protected PDFs may not open at all — remove the password first. Because nothing is uploaded, speed depends on your device: a long scan takes real seconds on an older phone, so leave the tab in the foreground.

No. Sign PDF places a visual signature image on the page — what most everyday paperwork needs. For a qualified electronic signature with a certificate, use an accredited provider.
