Remove a password from a PDF
Choose the PDF, type its password and download a copy that opens without asking. A file that only blocks printing or copying needs no password at all.

What Unlock PDF can do
You need the password
This tool removes a password you know; it never guesses or cracks one. Type the password the file opens with, or its owner password, and the copy is written without encryption. Bank statements, payslips and contracts that ask for a password every time are the usual case: type it once here, and the copy opens straight away in any app.
Printing or copying blocked
Some PDFs open freely but forbid printing, copying text or editing. They need no password here: the copy comes back without those limits, so you can print it, quote it or sign it.
What stays the same
Pages, text, images, links, bookmarks and form fields come out unchanged; only the encryption goes. A file locked with a certificate or a company’s own protection system, not a password, cannot be opened by any password typed here, and the page says so instead of failing quietly.

Questions
Can nopa open a PDF if I forgot the password?
No. nopa never guesses passwords. The message the file came with often says what the password is: a birth date or the last digits of an ID are common for statements and payslips.
Is the download really free?
Yes. No account, no trial and no watermark of ours on the file: it is made in your browser, and you can save it as many times as you like.
Which kinds of PDF passwords does it handle?
The standard PDF password protection in every version: RC4 40 and 128-bit, AES-128 and AES-256, as written by Acrobat, Word, Preview, banks and scanners.
What is an owner password?
A second password some PDFs carry, meant for whoever may change the file. It opens the file too, so either password works here.
Is the unlocked copy safe to keep?
It opens for anyone who has the file, so keep it where only you can reach it, or put a new password on it with Protect PDF.
Is my file sent anywhere?
No. The file is decrypted in your browser, on this device; nopa has no server that could receive it.
