What PDF to PNG can do

One PNG per page

Every page becomes a PNG named after your file, like report-page-1.png. A one-page PDF downloads as a single picture; longer ones arrive as one ZIP, numbered in page order, up to 200 pages per run.

PNG or JPG

PNG keeps every pixel as it was drawn, so small print, thin lines, tables and charts keep clean edges with no haze around the letters. That suits a slide, a diagram or a page you will paste into a document. On a page of text the PNG weighs about one and a half times the JPG; on a page of photos, several times, and there JPG is the better choice.

The resolution, on white

Pages are rendered at 1.5× their PDF size (about 108 dpi, near 893 × 1263 pixels for an A4 page): sharp on a screen, below the 300 dpi a print shop asks for. Every page is drawn on white, the way a PDF reader shows it, and its words become pixels: nothing to select or search.

Questions

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. Each page is drawn into a picture by your browser, and the PNGs (or the ZIP) are saved straight to your device.

Is the download really free?

Yes. No account, no trial and no watermark of ours on the file: it is made in your browser, and you can save it as many times as you like.

Is the background transparent?

No. Every page is drawn on white, the way a PDF reader shows it, so the PNG looks exactly like the page.

Will the PNG be bigger than a JPG?

Yes. On a page of text, about one and a half times: JPG saves space by blurring fine detail, and on text that detail is the edge of every letter. On a page of photos, several times. For scans and photos, PDF to JPG makes far smaller files.
